Whenever we are learning in an unknown space or territory, we bring all our life experiences, talents, resources, references and understanding with us. Even though the subject may be new to us, we don’t have to experience ourselves as having no value and worth to express ourselves within this new space of learning. Often times when people are placed into a new space of work or education, people assume an identity of unworthiness or intimidation from the perceived advancement of others. This in turn creates a pressure to “prove oneself”. ⠀

We all have something to contribute. Others may make assumptions of what our talent or understanding is and we may feel at times overlooked or disregarded and disempowered as a result. When we can remember that it’s not about their perception of reality but our own journey, we’re able to move on without the need for validation. You don’t have to fit into someone’s conception to exist with merit. In fact you’re probably stronger for it. ⠀
